Animal Based Feeds Definition

At Dickson's Farmstand, we prohibit the feeding of "Animal Based Feeds." We define "Animal Based Feeds" as animal (mammalian, avian, and aquatic) by-products derived from the slaughter/harvest processes including meat and fat, animal waste materials (e.g., manure and litter), and aquatic by-products (e.g. fishmeal and fish oil).

Mammalian and avian products such as milk, whey and eggs, that are not derived from the slaughter/harvest processes are allowed, but only for pigs. Pigs are omnivorous, and feeding eggs and dairy products help complete their nutritional needs.
