OUR FARMS
Dickson's Farmstand is a neighborhood butcher shop in Chelsea Market offering artisanal meats and house-made charcuterie. Our beef, pork, lamb, and poultry are sourced from small, family farms in upstate New York that are carefully handpicked for their humanely-raised, high-quality animals. We proudly share with you the stories of our farmers and their methods.
We search for farms doing something a little differently and select them based on quality, commitment to sustainability, and humane handling practices. We believe the farmer is a far more important part of this system than we are.
All our farms must meet the following baseline criteria:
- The entire supply chain (farm to slaughterhouse to Chelsea Market) must be no more than 400 miles.
- Animal-based feeds, prophylactic antibiotics, or added hormones are not administered at any point in the animal’s life.
- The animals from which our meat comes must spend their entire life on the farm – absolutely no CAFOs (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations) or feedlots.
